The role: 

Sojern is seeking an experienced professional in travel and advertising technology to help us grow the company’s data footprint, acquisition and partnerships across the APAC (“APAC”) region. 

The Senior Director, Data / Publisher will help enhance our supply strategy and expand publisher and data coverage in APAC.  The ideal candidate will be a strategic, creative thinker with a passion for data and technology. Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.

This role is responsible for identifying, negotiating, contracting, and managing relationships with C-level executives in the ad tech and travel industry.


  • Build and refine the supply strategy to drive performance for our ad campaigns.

  • Develop and execute platform and publisher acquisitions for increased supply to deliver outcomes.

  • Acquire new data partners to enhance our travel intent data globally and region.

  • Lead a team focused on establishing and growing publisher relationships and analyzing inventory usage and performance.

  • Partner with our APAC commercial team to identify customer inventory needs including market specific requirements.

  • Partner with product marketing and marketing to develop the go to market plans for Sojern’s publisher effort.

  • Pitch and close exchanges and publishers on partnering with Sojern to gain preferred and discounted access to high quality inventory.

  • Analyse data to improve quality across partners

  • Influence our bidding strategy by working closely with our Analyst and Data Science teams.

  • Travel across the APAC region frequently and the USA occasionally


What you bring to the table:

  • 10-12 years AdTech industry experience including 3-5 years in programmatic experience in APAC.

  • Proven experience leading large regional and/or global teams.

  • Strong understanding of and existing relationships with ad exchanges such as Google, AppNexus, Rubicon and OpenX. 

  • Solid negotiation skills and understanding of legal contracts a must.

  • Solid understanding of travel industry & data acquisition contracting and complex strategic partnerships negotiations.

  • Proficiency in English and Japanese language ability to handle the Japanese market is a plus.

  • Experience in publisher sales with established relationships.

  • Experience in analyzing data, identifying trends and formulating recommendations.

  • Technical skills preferred include DV 360 or similar DSP, SSP, DMP, MS Excel, Tableau and
