Why is this role important?

As a UX Designer at Sojern, you will help own, define, and deliver the end-to-end user experience used across all of our internal and external interfaces.  Your work will drive the overall experience all of our users have with the Sojern Traveler Platform, be they our hundreds of internal users who are responsible for driving Sojern’s success or our thousands of external customers who rely on Sojern to bring their brands to life. The workflows you contribute to will define the future platform experience of Sojern and the full spectrum of critical touch points our customers encounter throughout their journey with our solutions.

Once here, your contribution will be:

  • Translating complex product challenges and abstract ideas into tangible UX deliverables.

  • Collaborating closely with product managers, UI designers, engineers, and other cross-functional team members from around the globe to define and implement creative solutions.

  • Advocating for changes, refinements, and ongoing improvements to Sojern’s overall design language and the user experience it represents.

  • Authoring, iterating, and maintaining documentation including storyboards, workflows, information architecture, mockups, and prototypes.

  • Creating iterative designs (low- to high-fidelity) that meet project objectives and respond to design research, stakeholder feedback, and user testing.

  • Researching and sharing industry trends, competitors, and comparable experiences.

You are:

An experienced UX Designer with deep knowledge of modern user experience principles and a proven ability to apply your knowledge in a variety of different contexts. You’ve got more than a few raving fans who love your ability to ability to represent complex digital concepts in digestible experiences.  You are very detail-oriented, able to develop meaningful user journeys, and craft simple and intuitive user experiences that inspire your cross-functional stakeholders and users alike. You are passionate about your work while also being a team player. You have strong communication and storytelling skills, and are able to politely defend your design concepts while remaining open to feedback and input from others. You embrace an iterative (agile) design and development approach in every aspect of your role.

  • Experienced working alongside agile teams

  • Exceptionally good at authentically understanding the needs of users, and representing those needs via elegant, simple design concepts

  • Self-motivated, exhibiting strong self-management and a sense of urgency

  • Able to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with other people and departments in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • An exceptionally strong communicator and presenter

  • Able to get things done amid tight time constraints

We’d like you to have:

  • 3+ years of work experience as a UX designer working on shipped products

  • Extensive UX knowledge (information architecture, usability, design process, user testing)

  • Expert prototyping skills, including strong proficiency in prototyping tools (InVision, Marvel or similar) and techniques

  • Proficiency with Sketch, Zeplin, or similar tools

  • Experience at a start-up or on an in-house team

  • Direct experience proactively seeking out and receiving feedback from stakeholders and users with varying (and often little to no) understanding of UX design

  • Proven ability creating design solutions within an iterative design process

  • Deep knowledge of modern UX/UI patterns, principles, and best practices
