*This is a full-time position that allows you to work remotely from anywhere within the United States
 
As a Design Specialist Manager you will manage a team of talented designers interfacing directly with our Modsy customers, guiding them through the process of designing their home and confidently making purchasing decisions you know they’ll love. In this role, you’ll be tasked with building a world-class team of remote designers with both impeccable design skills but also strong customer-facing communication capabilities. You’ll be managing that team through the day-to-day operations but also escalating customer insights and opportunities as well as partnering to develop new training, communications and processes to improve the customer experience. The role requires someone with A+ people management skills and a strong passion for helping both Modsy and the customer succeed.

You are comfortable managing both in-house and remote employees. You are persuasive, encouraging, and motivating at all levels of interaction. 
    • Team builder. You are confident building world class teams from recruiting, interviewing and onboarding them to success. 
    • Customer-first leader. You are passionate about delivering great experiences for our customers and are comfortable managing escalations.
    • Multi-tasker and prioritization guru.  You are comfortable organizing various daily tasks into an effective routine and training your team on best practices
    • Motivated self-starter. You are a motivated self-starter and you have a desire to inspire others to continuously improve.  You are comfortable working in an ambiguous environment and work independently to achieve results with minimal guidance.
    • Strategic thinker.  You can translate high level strategy into actionable ideas. You’re comfortable synthesizing insights and reporting back to your manager. 

You'll be excited about this role because you will:

    • Recruit, interview, and select qualified candidates to build a talented team of designers to achieve current and future business goals
    • Prioritize, plan and adjust schedules and daily agendas to meet business goals including productivity, response time SLAs and sales. Hold team accountable to achieving goals.
    • In partnership with your dedicated Design Lead,  train and motivate all associates through on-going programs in design, furniture sales, customer service and product knowledge.
    • Assess performance and provide on-going feedback; Complete and deliver development plans.
    • Ensure team provides an exceptional customer experience to achieve World Class Service standards.

We'll be excited about you because you have:

    • 7+ years retail experience with experience managing a retail and/or sales environment, furniture or home decor a plus
    • Based in either Illinois or North Carolina
    • Strong Customer-facing experience
    • Experience managing remote employees
    • Has worked in a performance oriented, customer-centric environment
    • Design fluent with interest in home furnishings and decor
    • Tech savvy, proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Drive, ability to understand new programs quickly including Modsy’s 3D Style Editor.
    • Natural ability to collaborate with teams across the organization and thrives in a dynamic, fast paced environment
    • Availability to work some weekends and holidays
