Description

Grove Collaborative is looking for an experienced and inspirational Director of eCommerce to drive and grow key aspects of the business including business planning, merchandising strategy, promotional campaigns, web analytics and web technologies. The person in this role must be a thought leader in eCommerce, possessing the ability to influence across the organization, lead cross-functional initiatives, and drive eCommerce business strategies for a high-growth start-up. This is a highly visible role that leads the company’s eCommerce business from overall strategy to operational execution with P&L responsibility.

Your Role & Impact

    • Opportunity to "own" eCommerce for a fast-paced, high-growth, high-potential start-up, interfacing with top executives and making a huge impact to the success of Grove Collaborative 
    • Develop long, mid, and short term strategies to maximize success of business and support overall Grove Collaborative strategic priorities 
    • Achieve targeted sales plans, align on key KPIs to deliver the financial goals for the business and manage to those KPIs in support of the operating plan. Set goals for the business in alignment with the company’s strategy and prepare a plan to meet or exceed goals
    • Create data-driven strategies and A/B testing for product placement, cross-selling, personalization, customer segmentation, and branding of the site
    • Partner with Growth and Product Teams to implement new features to enhance the customer experience and increase conversion thru Grove Collaborative’s digital properties. Generate innovative and transformative ideas to optimize incoming site traffic and improve key KPIs (eg AOV)
    • Lead the Site Merchandising and Buying teams with a focus on coaching, inspiring, and developing talent to achieve their highest potential
    • Work hand-in-hand with all cross-departmental teams including but not limited to our marketing, growth, community happiness, operations, inventory management, and product management teams to increase customer conversion, shopping cart metrics, consumer engagement, and ROI
    • Manage external resources and vendors to successfully deliver on business goals and objectives while managing to the approved
    • Build long-range roadmap with compelling business launch plans, digital marketing initiatives, and vendor funding opportunities 
    • Keep a pulse on key trends in the marketplace and determine how to create product and marketing opportunities that generate a strong response from our customers 
    • Partner with hundreds of external brands for strategic marketing activations and own overall financial performance of campaigns 

Who You are

    • 7+ years working in a high-growth startup or e-commerce environment where you have been responsible for creating and executing strategies across site merchandising, buying, and marketing to drive incremental revenue growth 
    • You bring creativity, hustle, positivity, and analytical rigor to the pursuit of our mission to become the ultimate destination for clean and sustainable products
    • You have in depth knowledge of eCommerce, consumer behavior, eCommerce marketing strategy/best practices, tools, vendor management and project management
    • You live and breathe natural household and personal care products, you are aware of what is trending at any given moment, and understand how to translate those trends for our customers
    • You possess an acute awareness of our product assortment, growth strategies and marketing vehicles, and the engineering tools that are needed to take our site experience to the next level
    • You are a thoughtful team leader skilled at establishing business priorities and the ability to persuasively gain alignment with internal and external business partners
    • You are an owner. You love to bring projects from inception to completion. While you work closely with your partners you are able to get your hands dirty and see a project at the strategic and detailed level, simultaneously
    • You are very comfortable collaborating closely with team members at all levels and being accountable for high-priority projects  
    • You love over-delivering and doing more than previously thought possible  
    • You love to work hard, learn fast, and make an impact right away
