You are the brand storyteller. You know our brand and customer as well as anyone. You know which emotions we're tapping into, how to trigger those emotions and how to bring that to life in the Grove tone. You will work closely with the VP of Creative, acting as the right hand on the copy side. As the lead writer on the brand side you will be asked to both get your hands dirty right away in the creation of that copy as well manage contractors as needed. You will be responsible for all brand level written communication, e.g. in-box experience, brand level marketing communications (print, tv, catalog, etc), brand level script writing, create/manage the tone of all new Grove own brands we launch, website copy, brand level email series (vs. marketing emails), etc.


    • Proven exceptional storytelling/copywriting abilities.
    • Ability to think left and right brain to craft narratives that push the brand forward while solving business objectives.
    • Solid project and people management skills
    • Ability to coordinate large teams and keep them on schedule and proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
    • A track record of owning & launching successful projects, e.g. marketing campaigns, product launches, brand launches, etc.
    • Proven experience in storyboarding and scriptwriting for longer and shorter form film or video
    • Experience in photography, production, shot lists and post/editorial end-to-end
    • Strong aesthetic sensibility demonstrated via visual art, graphic design, styling, curation etc.


    • You're the brand storyteller. You know the the brand inside and out and how we connect with our customer.
    • Script writing for brand videos, catalog editorial, web site communication, etc.
    • Brand copy for all new products and brand launches. For example: 
    • Grove brand copy: email, print, digital, OOH, video scripts, etc
    • Eventually hiring a small team of writers as we scale.


    • 5-10 years of in house, agency or other relevant experience.
    • Fluent understanding of creative process, particularly video & photo production as it relates to marketing.
    • Portfolio of relevant work.
    • Relevant experience with consumer products, particularly CPG.
    • Live in Portland area. This is not a remote position.
