But we’re just getting started.
The United States, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and India all are in different stages of implementing “open banking” mandates for consumer financial data. The Policy team works with government policymakers, consumer groups, trade associations, and think tanks to nourish the policy ecosystem that allows consumers to use their financial data to get the products and services they want. The issues are complicated, evolving quickly, and touch on a variety of topics from security to privacy to data use.
This role requires a critical thinker and strong writer who can quickly digest challenging topics and unpack them into concepts that can be easily understood. It will entail in-depth research of different laws, regulations, policies, and consumer and business preferences and writing persuasive advocacy pieces that serve as the foundational literature of consumer financial data access. It requires someone who is technically inclined, who can translate “tech talk” and “business concepts” into “policy wonk”, and visa versa This person should be able to identify policy developments or opportunities that directly relate to Plaid’s business.
