Description

Are you looking for a challenging finance role that will allow you to drive business strategy through strategic thinking, modeling and analysis? Do you want to support a growing team that drives a key business line for the company? LendingClub is looking to hire a motivated Financial Analyst to support the growing New Personal Loans business unit. In this role, you will demonstrate analytical methods such as product profitability assessment, financial forecasting and long-range planning, and ad hoc financial analysis. This role will report to the New Personal Loans Head of Strategic Finance and play a key role on a matrixed, cross-functional team that includes leads from marketing, product, engineering, credit risk assessment and finance. Most importantly, this role will serve as the critical link that strengthens the connection between understanding historical business unit profitability and generating forward-looking business planning and forecasting.

 

 

What You'll Do

 

  • Manage and own business unit financial reporting and key profitability metrics
  • Manage and own personnel and expense budgets for the Credit and Marketing organizations, which are two integral functions that support the Personal Loans – New Customer Acquisition business unit
  • Understand drivers of the business unit and company’s financial results to develop commentary intended for business unit leadership, Investor Relations and Corporate FP&A teams
  • Drive critical business processes including long-range plan, annual budget, quarterly forecast support and business case analyses
  • Conduct and lead ad-hoc financial analysis for business unit and finance leadership
  • Gather and interpret data, model scenarios, and clearly communicate analyses, insights, risks and opportunities to various leadership teams for consideration

 

 

About You

 

  • 2+ years of experience in investment banking / capital markets, corporate strategy consulting, credit risk assessment or financial planning and analysis at a high growth technology or financial services company
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, such as finance, engineering, statistics, operations research, analytics, data science or other management sciences
  • Familiarity with SQL, Tableau, Host Analytics, Oracle Fusion a plus
  • Experience in Business Intelligence functions or projects, data modeling or database configuration a plus
  • Keen interest and basic understanding of how direct-to-consumer marketing, credit risk assessment and product development interact within consumer finance
  • Demonstrated ability to think and work independently and lead day-to-day projects, and track record of being a strong teammate that can work collaboratively cross-functional partners
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint knowledge and aptitude
  • Ability to present to and influence senior leadership by communicating complex ideas in both technical and user-friendly languages
