The Scrum Master/Jira Administrator and Workflow Specialist is responsible for assigning and trafficking all Digital-related work across NextHealth Technologies development, analytics, and engineering teams. This role focuses on supercharging the organization’s production, ensuring sprints are executed as planned. This role owns the cadence of scrum and Kanban workflows, ensuring that work priorities are identified and worked, that development team commitments are met, and that the team is continually improving its velocity of delivery.
This role will lead and manage all of the capabilities of the Atlassian/Jira system to setup an agile work environment and own the agile process that uses Atlassian/JIRA as its core development management solution.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Configure Jira for lean-agile teams as well as a Kanban group
Maintain proper balance between standardized views and processes with flexibility so that the organization stays agile
Traffic/assign all development work based on a line of site into resources available among shared resources, coordinating all deliverables to ensure they’re delivered on-time
Supervision of scheduling and implementation of all work, managing project timelines and sprints, ensuring all projects are executed as planned
Closely monitor velocity and work with the departmental heads to make sure all developers are being productive and are set up to succeed each and every sprint.
Run all Scrum ceremonies including the daily stand ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives, and demo days being sure to avoid meeting overload.
Attend bug-triage meetings and help assign responsible development teams.
Responsible for the burndown chart making sense, keeping in-sprint stories organized and properly managed, and continually checking in with the development team to both increase productivity and ensure quality.
Create and support complex business processes.
Support multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining a close working relationship with business partners and development teams.
Implement cross-functional department workflows to maintain the highest level of quality
Advocate for the Agile process across the company.
Report on development team progress early and often.
Contribute to the planning of Product Roadmaps.
Ensure alignment between the business operational strategies and technical solutions.
Manage, maintain and utilize the chosen project management tool (JIRA).
Leading/managing all of the capabilities of the Jira system (including add-ons, plug-ins, screens, workflows, schemas, troubleshooting, fields, permissions and notifications)
Responsible for administration, maintenance, upgrades, enhancements to Jira, Confluence and integrations with other tools and plugins
Manage user permissions for tools according to the needs of projects and teams
Perform application and system administration tasks, including data backups and scheduled jobs
Test new versions of the tools and plug-ins to ensure compatibility
Work with Jira filters, reporting, dashboards, workflows, fields, and Jira administration
Communicate and share knowledge with internal and external contacts at all levels
Construct custom dashboards using various filter types in Jira
Train staff on Jira and navigating projects in the space
Manage multiple responsibilities with tight deadlines
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experience (required)
AGILE scrum certified (Certified Scrum Master-CSM)
Five or more years of experience in the product development process
Related industry (healthcare) experience preferred
Experience as Jira Administrator with customizing Jira projects with various schemes and managing complex workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes is required
Jira software/Confluence experience required
Experience installing and configuring various Atlassian Tools (ex: Jira, Confluence)
Ability to write custom JQL preferred
Experience in performing Atlassian installations, migrations, and plugin installation
Proven track record building and releasing new products from conception to production
Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative Agile environment
