Description

Opendoor’s Internal Communications Specialist will work closely with our Senior Internal Communications Manager to inspire, inform and engage our growing workforce. He or she will be responsible for running internal comms programs, managing employee events, and developing internal content. This is an opportunity to help ensure our employees understand Opendoor’s vision, are informed of our progress and feel personally connected to the company and each other.

Your role at Opendoor:

      • Manage multiple communications initiatives to build awareness around and passion for internal Opendoor programs
      • Support the content, speakers and logistics of Opendoor’s employee events (all-hands meetings, guest speakers, cultural events, etc.)
      • Draft content for company-wide and team-wide written communications (company emails, team updates, etc.)
      • Maintain a content calendar to keep employees informed of company news, business performance, employee updates and more
      • Maintain, administer, and create intranet site content including documents, video, photos, and other related media
      • Copyedit and proofread intranet content to ensure communication is concise, visually appealing and comprehensive.
      • Collaborate with business partners across the company to pitch new stories for weekly communications and ad-hoc emails and advise them on communications plans
 

We’re excited if you have:

      • 3-5 years of communications, PR, or related experience
      • A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or related field  
      • Excellent writing and communications skills with proven ability to “think outside the box” and use communications as an innovative tool to engage employees [portfolio preferred]
      • Past experience with content management tools (intranet platforms, Mailchimp, etc)
 

Extra bonus points for:

      • Moderate or advanced design skills in Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator 
      • Past experience planning and executing employee engagement events
