Description

  • The successful candidate will have broad experience working in the consumer credit industry, preferably specializing in credit risk management. A quantitative background, experience in the development and use of statistical models are essential. A primary focus for this role is to set the strategic direction to support the LendingClub Marketplace (product to platform) initiative, work with Engineering and other business partners to understand their requirements to onboard new LC partners, setup the required Risk infrastructure (e.g. data, decision and fulfilment) by partner and launch partners

     

     

    What You'll Do

     

    •    Functional responsibilities span all LendingClub lending products- Personal Loans, Auto, Purchase Finance and Small Business and partnerships
    •    Decision Sciences-  Collaborate with teams responsible for developing statistical models and scorecards in several areas including: credit underwriting, loan pricing, forecasting, collections and, response targeting
    •    Ensure an efficient infrastructure for onboarding partners, documentation, implementation, and validation of the specific infrastructure, policies, products and fulfilment criteria
    •    Credit CoE- Collaborate with teams to develop comprehensive acquisition strategy monitoring, strategy enhancement, and review of operational effectiveness for LendingClub and partner products.  Additional team responsible for ensuring robust processes are in place and maintained to monitor partner credit strategies and compliance with partner, internal policies and government regulations
    •    Participate in industry forums to benchmark Lending Club Marketplace offerings, tools, techniques, processes and strategy performance
     

     

     

    About You

     

    •    Consumer credit portfolio risk management and decision science experience
    •    Credit strategy development experience is required; acquisitions strategy experience is a plus
    •    Hands-on experience with setting up large risk infrastructure processes that include interfaces with 3rd party data and critical latency requirements (e.g. credit bureau, alternative data) familiarity with Decision Engines, data connectors and aggregation tools, real-time scoring environments are a plus
    •    Strong knowledge of applicable regulations and industry practices
    •    Ability to develop End to End technology roadmap and plan to address multi-dimensional business needs across various consumer financial products (e.g. loans, credit cards, auto, insurance, savings, checking etc.)
    •    Ability to communicate clearly and precisely and in detail on technical and business topics across all levels of management.  Experience communicating with senior executives and regulators
    •    Ability to influence and drive change cross-functionally
    •    Hands on expertise with tools used in quantitative discipline (e.g. python, R, SAS)
    •    8+ years of relevant business experience
