The Health Catalyst People Operations team is focused on establishing a best-place-to-work environment that enables our team members to achieve massive improvements in healthcare. The People Analytics/Compensation Program Manager is responsible for partnering with members of the People Operations Team, and other Health Catalyst team members, including business leaders, to ask strategic questions, evaluate data, identify insights, and execute strategies to increase team member engagement and satisfaction. Additionally, this team member will be responsible for managing the Health Catalyst compensation plan in such a way that team members feel they are being taken care of financially and can focus on transforming healthcare.

What You Will Be Responsible For

People Analytics

  • Meeting regularly with People Operations, team members and business leaders to identify key strategic people problems, and responding accordingly with deep, insightful analysis and partnership on solutions
  • Proactively gathering and evaluating data to identify areas of concern that haven’t yet been recognized
  • Executing and automating day-to-day operational reporting for business needs, including management reporting
  • Training and mentoring others in leveraging Workday and other data sources to build ad hoc reports
  • Concisely and strategically presenting information to team members and other leaders in order to accelerate people decisions, while managing the details behind the scenes to ensure solutions are operational



  • Meeting regularly with managers to understand team member roles and appropriately benchmark compensation against industry benchmarks; managing and approving compensation for new job requisitions and offers
  • Participating in salary surveys with various 3rd parties; both contributing our data and understanding key market trends
  • Significantly contributing to the development of the annual compensation budget model based on industry benchmark data, Health Catalyst’s compensation philosophy, and strategic compensation initiatives
  • Managing the quarterly administration of the promotion process to ensure equity and consistency in compensation guidance, in partnership with People Operations Business Partners
  • Supporting the annual merit increase process and partnering with managers to ensure equitable and engaging compensation guidance occur
  • Work with People Operations team to operationalize Workday system to support compensation initiatives


Specific Skills/Experience You Will Need

  • Exceptional presentation skills, including strong grammatical/editorial skills
  • Strong logic and problem-solving skills, including expert-level Excel and PowerPoint abilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate a story using data visualizations
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous situations and provide guidance based on the Health Catalyst operating principles of improvement, ownership, respect, and transparency
  • Ability to work effectively with team members from all levels of the organization, and manage the message according to the audience
  • Ability to clearly and concisely deliver difficult messages while also listening to and understanding diverse perspectives
  • Can-do attitude with willingness to tackle important projects against tight deadlines
  • Ability to creatively problem-solve and innovate to align industry best practices with the Health Catalyst culture
  • Ability to identify patterns, notice a problem, and dive deep to its roots to understand its breadth and true impact
  • Flexibility to manage changing priorities and deadlines


Skills We Would Love to See, But Aren’t Required

  • Experience managing compensation plans and executing against industry best-practices
  • Experience with budget forecasting
  • Experience with SQL and Qlikview, Tableau, PowerBI, or another data visualization tool, preferred
  • Experience automating operational processes


Your Background and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with preferred emphasis in Statistics, Management, Information Systems, or HR Management, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in analytics or compensation
