The Role:

The Regional Sales Director role drives business to business sales and is responsible for helping to develop, grow, and manage a digital advertising business within their region. Depending on Sojern’s presence within the assigned region, the Regional Sales Director will help defining and leading the go-to-market strategy and/or support retention of Sojern’s existing client base while also developing and acquiring new clients across the region. Clients may include major global hotel groups, airlines, tourism boards, and brand advertisers. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Help to define and lead the Go-To-Market strategy to acquire and develop new strategic clients across the region

  • Lead in developing, managing and growing an advertising book of business predominantly made up of hotel / travel / tourism clients

  • Independently create and deliver persuasive presentations that educate the market and demonstrate Sojern’s value proposition

  • Mentor, coach, and train other sellers and be able to teach new sales techniques

  • May also manage a team of sellers

  • Effectively collaborate cross-functionally with vertical sales, account management and product teams to develop relevant advertising programs for key clients, targets and their agencies

  • Be the Subject Matter Expert on the region and able to internally present on metrics and sales strategy when requested

  • Independently able to maintain and grow a large book of business and have deep sales strategy conversations with any of Sojern’s clients

  • Meet and exceed aggressive and growing sales targets on a quarterly basis

  • Maintain SalesForce and keep client activity organized

  • Account Planning - Establishing a plan to achieve the sales objectives of an account, taking into consideration overall opportunities, customer business priorities and anticipated business changes, regional issues, past sales results, and available resources; taking action specified in the account plan, reviewing progress, and adjusting the plan as needed

  • Building Customer Relationships - Ensuring that the customer’s needs are met; building productive relationships with high priority customers; taking accountability for customer satisfaction and loyalty; using appropriate interpersonal techniques to prevent and resolve escalated customer complaints and regain customer confidence

  • Sales Negotiation - Effectively exploring alternatives and positions to reach mutually beneficial sales agreements that gain customers’ acceptance and commitment

  • High Impact Presentations - Presenting ideas effectively to individuals or groups when given time to prepare; delivering presentations suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience

  • Broadening Business Value - Exploring customers’ underlying issues and needs that suggest broader solutions; maximizing the productiveness of sales interactions by building on customer cues to gain commitment to products, services, and solutions; articulating and promoting a path forward

  • Targeting Sales Opportunities - Identifying the most promising new sales opportunities by uncovering emerging business and market issues and then identifying potential customer organizations and their influential decision makers who would be interested in improving these business results

  • Coaching the Sales Team - Diagnosing areas for improving salespersons’ techniques; providing timely feedback, instruction, and guidance to strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas and optimize sales success

  • Strategic Influence - Creating and executing influence strategies that gain commitment to one’s ideas and persuade key stakeholders to take action that will advance shared interests and business goals.

  • Strategic Planning - Obtaining information and identifying key issues and relationships relevant to achieving a long-range goal; committing to a course of action to accomplish a long-range goal after developing alternatives based on logical assumptions, facts, available resources, constraints, and organizational values.

What you bring to the table:

  • 7 years overall sales experience in digitable and programmatic advertising and/or travel vertical sales

  • Proficiency in standard business and sales software, including Salesforce, Gsuite, and Office products

  • Ability to build sales plans and RFP responses

  • A fundamental understanding of the programmatic ecosystem

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Travel Required - 20-30%

  • Fluent in English and Spanish - Requirement
