The role: 

The Senior Sales Director role drives business to business sales and is responsible for developing, growing, and managing a digital advertising business within their region or vertical. As Sojern’s initial CTV Lead, this Senior Sales Director will help define the go-to-market strategy for our CTV product roll-out specifically, while also developing and acquiring new clients across their region. Clients may include major hotel groups, airlines, cruise lines, rental car companies, OTA’s, tourism boards, and brand advertisers. 



  • Establish new revenue streams in assigned region, with a focus on CTV, Digital Audio and other digital advertising products. 

  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing and existing Sales Teams to develop successful Go To Market Plans for Sojern’s new CTV offering, including identifying the most relevant client & agency contacts to pitch

  • Provide expertise and lead the commercial voice for CTV sales initiatives, thereby becoming a key resource for the broader sales team. 

  • Manage other regional sales representatives, from Sales Managers to Sales Directors

  • Independently create and deliver persuasive presentations that educate the market and demonstrate Sojern’s value proposition, especially in the CTV space

  • Independently write clear and persuasive emails to clients 

  • Take a lead role in developing, managing and growing an advertising book of business predominantly made up of hotel / travel / tourism clients 

  • Work cross-functionally with vertical sales, account management and product teams to develop relevant advertising programs for key clients, targets and their agencies

  • Meet and exceed aggressive and growing sales targets on a quarterly basis

  • Maintain SalesForce and keep client activity organized

  • Account Planning - Establishing a plan to achieve the sales objectives of an account, taking into consideration overall opportunities, customer business priorities and anticipated business changes, regional issues, past sales results, and available resources; taking action specified in the account plan, reviewing progress, and adjusting the plan as needed

  • Building Customer Relationships - Ensuring that the customer’s needs are met; building productive relationships with high priority customers; taking accountability for customer satisfaction and loyalty; using appropriate interpersonal techniques to prevent and resolve escalated customer complaints and regain customer confidence

  • Sales Negotiation - Effectively exploring alternatives and positions to reach mutually beneficial sales agreements that gain customers’ acceptance and commitment

  • High Impact Presentations - Presenting ideas effectively to individuals or groups when given time to prepare; delivering presentations suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience

  • Broadening Business Value - Exploring customers’ underlying issues and needs that suggest broader solutions; maximizing the productiveness of sales interactions by building on customer cues to gain commitment to products, services, and solutions; articulating and promoting a path forward

  • Targeting Sales Opportunities - Identifying the most promising new sales opportunities by uncovering emerging business and market issues and then identifying potential customer organizations and their influential decision makers who would be interested in improving these business results


What you bring to the table:

  • 7+ years overall sales experience in television and digital advertising combined, with some form of video advertising sales a must

  • Experience in travel vertical sales is a plus

  • Some Sales Management experience preferred

  • Proficiency in standard business and sales software, including Salesforce, Gsuite & Office products

  • Ability to build sales plans and RFP responses

  • A fundamental understanding of the television buying & programmatic advertising ecosystems

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Travel Required - up to 50%
