About the Role


We’re a group of engineers excited about empowering our peers to do great work even faster. You’ll lead UI platform teams building components, frameworks, infrastructure, and community for our web and mobile application feature teams. We participate in bi-weekly sprints, write automated tests, demo and document our features, and solicit input from the Lending Club UI community when planning our roadmap.

This role requires strong front-end architecture and JavaScript programming skills (React, React Native, Node), a passion for helping other software engineers deliver, and the ability to clearly communicate the UI architecture and infrastructure roadmap to many feature teams.

What You'll Do 

We are hiring an Engineering Director to lead platform engineering teams building re-usable components / frameworks, intuitive tooling, fast builds, robust testing infrastructure, and rapid deployment capabilities.  As an Engineering leader, you will be responsible for managing projects, technology, and teams of software engineers. You'll use your technical skills to contribute to design reviews and architectural discussions, your product management skills to identify and specify high leverage work, and your people skills to enable career growth and operate across a large organization. 



About You


About You 

  • 8+ years building and delivering software using JavaScript technologies 

  • 8+ years of experience interviewing, coaching and leading top engineering talent 

  • Experience writing clean JavaScript including experience with common libraries (jQuery and Angular/Ember/React) and debugging tools (Chrome Dev Tools, etc.) 

  • Knowledge of (and a passion for) current trends and best practices in front-end web architecture, including performance, accessibility, security and usability  

  • Familiarity and comfort with command-line applications, source control, automated testing frameworks and other aspects of developing in large, distributed software teams 

  • Comfortable building roadmaps and can develop a long-term team vision in partnership with other engineering teams, accountable for driving project execution 

  • Experience with CI/CD tools and its infrastructure 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience  

  • Experience with Design Systems and UI component libraries a huge plus
