Business Analyst, Trust & Safety

Reporting to the Director of Trust & Safety, the Business Analyst is responsible for proactively identifying patterns and sources to minimize the company’s exposure to financial and reputational risk.  The ideal candidate has a high level of subject matter expertise and is experienced in utilizing information generated from trust and safety patterns, data analytics and business knowledge to identify insights and develop solutions.   

You're excited about this opportunity because you will…

      • Perform analytical deep dives to investigate opportunities to improve trust and safety through data collection and analysis
      • Design analytical and reporting frameworks to make complex data easy to understand and drive decision making 
      • Own conceptualizing, developing and maintaining dashboards and reporting in order to drive prioritization 
      • Perform ad hoc data analysis to remove roadblocks and ensure operations are running with optimal efficiency
      • Be comfortable working with both structured and unstructured data
      • Maintain the right balance between speed to market and analytical soundness when designing solutions to create a safe and delightful Opendoor home visit experience.
      • Work cross functionally to develop a flexible infrastructure for experimentation, and implementation of innovative solutions

We're excited about you because you have…

    • At least 4+ years experience in analytics and/or data science roles
    • Prior experience in fraud/risk/trust operations or policy preferred
    • Expertise using data analytics, business intelligence and programming  tools like SQL, Excel, Mode, BigQuery
    • Creative & out of the box approaches to problem solving
    • Curiosity and passion to find and solve the root cause of problems
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • A stellar work ethic, a willingness to roll up your sleeves, and you are looking for the right company to support your growth
    • Above all else an inquisitive, kind, and goal-oriented team player; ability to represent the Opendoor values in all interactions
