The Role:

Sojern is looking for a dynamic People Operations Generalist in Singapore to add to our incredible People Ops Team. Our team is focused on delivering the best possible HR experience to our employees. We are a growing company, with an incredible product, and exceptional employees. 

We are looking for a People Ops Generalist to support the day-to-day of the APAC regions, while also leading and supporting global projects. The work you do will help us take our People Ops service to the next level. Whether it’s working to onboard new employees, facilitate trainings, or just ensure that everyone has benefits, you’re on it! This role will report to the regional People Ops Business Partner in Singapore.

  • Be the go-to resource for all employee questions in the APAC regions for all things People Ops (e.g., benefits, HR policies, local labor laws, visas, etc)

  • Advise first-time and mid-level managers on effective People Ops policies and procedures

  • Own the full onboarding/offboarding process for the APAC regions including helping to build and support 30/60/90 day onboarding plans with managers

  • Responsible for managing the Singapore Work Passes (application/renewal/termination) in a timely and compliant manner

  • Partnering closely with International Payroll Specialist; a collaboration in ensuring monthly payrolls for the APAC region gets accurately and timely processedOwn and facilitate the immigration processes in APAC region

  • Support core People Ops processes (e.g., performance reviews, compensation cycles, promotion process, terminations, etc) in partnership with the Global People Ops Team

  • Responsible for the accuracy in maintaining Employee Records on file and systems

  • Manage a strong and efficient vendor relationships such as PEO, service providers and external Immigration Advisor.

  • Support our Culture of Learning by assisting with coordination of in-person trainings, professional development events, Lunch and Learns, etc.

  • Manage the Leave Tracking System to ensure record accuracy and process optimization 

  • Provide support in the implementation of HR strategy and execution of any supporting programs

  • Assist in ad-hoc administrative matters including but not limited to, preparing of Offer letters, Employees’ letter requests, and data-integrity check on file/system

  • Provide support during Office Manager’s absence with time-sensitive duties such as scheduling of interviews and other office admin matters.

  • Collaborate with the People Ops team to champion a culture in which people feel engaged, included, and inspired to achieve top results

  • Plus, room to explore other areas of interest - Get involved in or create global projects that explore other areas of HR, including Analytics, Learning and Development, Performance Management, Compensation, Employee Engagement, Attrition, etc


What you bring to the table:

  • Degree in Business studies / Human Resource or other related disciplines

  • 5+ years of proven, progressive HR experience in a fast moving and high growth environment

  • An outstanding focus on achieving a high level of customer service

  • A self starter, with a “can do” attitude to run with an idea or task 

  • Highly resourceful and enjoy challenges with a positive and astute problem-solving mindset

  • Meticulous and exercises a high level of discretion when dealing with confidential information

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Effective project management skills; proven ability to own a project from end to end

  • Highly organized and ability to independently manage multiple competing priorities

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a sense of humor and ability to strike up a respectful conversation with anyone (at all levels and a culturally diverse workforce)

  • A strong knowledge of HR practices, Singapore Employment Act, MOM Guidelines and immigration processes

  • Good computing skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications / G-suite applications

  • Team player with proven multi-tasking abilities

  • Experience using HR systems is a plus

  • Startup experience preferred
