Position Overview
 
We are looking for a Corporate Controller to lead a global team as we continue to support the company goal to scale. This person will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the global accounting function by providing leadership, process knowledge, technical expertise, and business collaboration.
 
You will be the key driver and enabler in the development of people, process and technology ensuring data is readily available for management decision making, legal compliance, management and external reporting.
 
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a fast growth corporate environment, have built and organizations to scale for rapid growth, and have a history of experience that includes time in public environments and public accounting. Prior experience with SaaS or usage-related experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

    • Owns the global close process and related reporting, including revenue recognition, general ledger and consolidations
    • Plan and direct all accounting activities across the organization, to ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC regulations, statutory guidelines, and internal financial policies and procedures
    • Build the technical infrastructure and control environment to support the company’s hyper-growth and prepare the company for an IPO
    • Leads all aspects of international controllerships and accounting operations
    • Leverage technology to build scalable/sustainable processes to create efficiencies, streamline accounting operations and improve employee experience
    • Establish strong relationships with inter-departmental peers and be the “go to” accounting source in the Company
    • Continually evaluate and optimize month-end close processes, striving to deliver process automation, improved accuracy and higher customer service
    • Drive career development for the accounting team, be an inspirational leader to the overall controllership team, ensure a development focus is felt across the organization
    • Ensure effective internal controls and appropriate accounting procedures, including evaluation of processes and controls for compliance with SOX requirements.
    • Has a keen focus on agility, and capable of pivoting based on changing business needs, while keeping the accounting team in a steady state
    • Demonstrate thought leadership in how to run an accounting organization in a high growth environment where changes are constant
    • Collaborate with partners in and outside of finance to build scalable processes to support growth
    • Benchmark and coordinate with industry peers on standard methodologies related to accounting, systems, policies, and processes
    • Participate in key strategic initiatives and assist with other ad hoc project
    • Interact with senior executives and board regarding financial matters as needed

Qualifications

    • 10+ years of relevant experience, including Big 4 public accounting experience and accounting leadership roles in publicly traded companies
    • Proven record of mentoring and developing talents in a global environment
    • Comfortable leading teams through ambiguity and be a champion of change
    • Problem solving and decision-making capacity in a high growth environment
    • Demonstrated ability to build new capabilities, with a process orientation
    • High emotional intelligence, ability to build and sustain relationships at multiple levels within and outside of finance
    • Passionate and persistent about operational excellence
    • Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, active listener, tailors communication to the audience
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and adhere to tight deadlines
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required (active or inactive status)
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
    • SaaS or Software Company revenue experience
    • Experience with NetSuite preferred
