The Role: 

You are a driven, self-motivated, and hungry to learn individual, who excels in hiring, coaching, and developing talent! As a Team Lead of the Business Development Team, you will hire, train, and coach a rapidly growing team of BDR’s. You will play a critical role in crafting and improving outbound communication as the BDR’s prospect and book appointments for small and mid-sized travel businesses that may benefit from Sojern’s media products and solutions. Our mission is to build a sharp, focused, and dynamic team of outbound sales experts that will help take Sojern’s business to a new level! 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a growing team of BDR’s, possibly in a global remit

  • Possess a deep understanding of Sojern’s solutions and value proposition by managing a small book of business to generate sales appointments 

  • Conduct weekly 1:1 meetings with BDR’s to provide hands-on coaching and development. Lead weekly team meetings and working sessions 

  • Lead BDR hiring, training, and development. Assist in building, documenting, and updating all training content and internal SOP’s 

  • Establish and enforce best practices in the areas of lead sourcing, pipeline management, and sales funnel reporting

  • Drive to achieve targeted outcomes: activity volume, pitches booked, conversion rates; with the objective to increase BDR productivity 

  • Proficiently utilize Salesforce, with Sojern’s architecture and guidelines, with the ability to report on KPIs, including individual and team results 

  • Encourage internal relationships with all commercial sellers and sales leaders; working to ensure proper hand-off and follow-up of prospective clients 

  • Identify and make recommendations for improvements around the BDR process, tools, and efficiency 

  • Establish strong working partnerships with all Global Team Leads 

  • Foster an energetic and collaborative team environment 

  • Travel 2+ times/year to assist BDR’s with in-market prospecting efforts 

 

What you bring to the table:

  • Written and Spoken fluency in either Spanish, Italian, or French

  • 5 years of total work experience, with 1-2 years of management experience, with a proven track record of hiring and developing individuals and teams

  • Experience in Business Development (or similar style of work) is preferred

  • Ability to effectively build and manage KPIs for the Sales Operations and Inside Sales organizations

  • Goal-oriented, passionate, high-energy professional with a solution-oriented mindset

  • Self-motivated, willing to learn new technologies and able to work independently and cross-functionally 

  • Must be comfortable and competent in communications with veteran sales representatives and executives

  • Possesses the drive to participate and succeed in the growth of an extremely fast-paced, exciting company

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proficient use of Salesforce.com
