At Plaid, we believe that the way consumers and businesses interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. Plaid’s infrastructure handles millions of requests per day and thousands of bank integrations, and we pride ourselves on maintaining a robust API to support the developers who depend on us—and the millions of consumers who use their apps. The teams within our Backend Engineering group coordinate to build and maintain the internal product infrastructure that makes this all possible, providing common building blocks and abstractions over our core services and data stores and a single Plaid-wide platform for iterating on and shipping code so that product engineering teams move fast and avoid solving the same problems over and over.
As the Engineering Manager for the Developer Efficiency team, you'll help build and scale the internal tools that enable engineers to ship quickly while maintaining the level of reliability that our customers have come to expect. This includes every stage of the feature development lifecycle, from local iteration and testing all the way to final deployment into production. Your team will create not just tools and libraries but also the best practices around architecture and process that maximize the tools' leverage.
You'll lead a team of 5-10 engineers, working closely with our Infrastructure team to make sure your tooling is tightly integrated with our Kubernetes-based platform. You'll also be engaging with other engineering teams across the organization to understand pain points and develop a roadmap that anticipates productivity blockers before they happen. Finally, you'll work with your Group EM and other managers within Engineering on making sure our team structure, processes, and culture scale as the company grows.
