The Role:

Be one of the founding engineers on our Site Reliability Engineering team, establish best practices and shape the SRE culture at Sojern, and work in close collaboration with SWEs

Instrument the VM, the OS, the network, ensure thread liveness and count every context switch to squeeze the last drop of performance from your systems.

Enjoy a fast paced environment that challenges you to adapt to change swiftly.

Focus on solving the problem with simple, concise, maintainable, transparent techniques.

Implement revenue producing features plus discover and contribute your own.

Ability to work independently, learn from and mentor other team members.

Apply statistical measurements to your systems to carve out the signal from the noise.



What you bring to the table:

2+ years of experiences as a SWE/SRE

Proficiency in Python and Java or Go.

Excellent grasp of CS fundamentals and linux environment

Excellent grasp of network fundamentals, i.e. grok exactly happens when I type www.google.com in a browser on every layer

BS/MS in CS/EE or equivalent experience.



Bonus Points:

Experience with Distributed Systems and highly parallel processes.

Experience with Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services infrastructure (EC2, S3).

Experience with Kubernetes, Prometheus, Jenkins, Grafana, pprof, perf tools

Big Data experience: Hadoop, HBase, BigTable, BigQuery
