Modsy (modsy.com) is a fast growing SF based startup that allows you to see inspirational designs and decor within the context of your own home. Sparked by a lifelong passion for the intersection of design and technology, Modsy is being brought to life by a diverse and talented team of engineers, artists, designers, and creators.

We’re looking for a world-class PR expert to join our Modsy marketing team. In this role, you’ll be our first in-house PR hire and will oversee and own all PR efforts. We are growing quickly, so your expertise will be put to good use.

Responsibilities

Craft holistic PR strategy and plan, focusing on consumer, business, and industry/tech press

Manage external public relations agency on a daily basis

Execute targeted outreach campaigns surrounding major announcements or launches

Secure regular evergreen reviews and coverage in between announcements

Help craft unique and compelling external messaging

Work with spokespeople to prep for media interviews and speaking engagements

Help build out conference, speaking engagements, and event strategy

Maintain consistent and healthy relationships with media

Establish and execute influencer campaigns, both with paid and organic relationships

Measure and analyze the impact of coverage to guide strategic direction and improvements with the goal of increasing the volume and quality of coverage

Minimum (Required) Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, public policy, or related field

7+ years’ experience (in-house or agency), preferably with experience tech and B2C spaces

Strong media relations and proven skills as a company spokesperson for both proactive and reactive stories

Experience working with influencers or on influencer campaigns

Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal; ability to write, edit and proofread to professional standard

Ability to translate technical and/or complex information into media- and consumer-friendly key messages tailored for specific audiences

Ability to prepare a wide variety of media and presentation materials

Experience handling consumer issues as it relates to media coverage

Ability to quickly grasp business/industry issues and work on tight deadlines

Strong agency-management skills
