About the Role
The HQ Space Planning Manager will oversee the team’s daily operations and have the opportunity to partner with other members of the workplace teams to drive initiatives and key projects forward.
What You’ll Do
Manage the daily operations of the HQ Space Planning team, including:
Space Planning - Proactive and Reactive Scenario Preparation, Analysis, and Implementation
Furniture - Coordinate and Implement Existing and New Furniture Solutions
MAC - Coordinate and Implement Daily and Complex Move Projects
Administrative - Assist with the day to day activities and special projects
Vendor - External Move and Vendor Teams who assist with daily and special projects
Assist with process development, review, and continual refinement to support HQ teams
Meet with business leaders to proactively discuss current and future space needs, conducting what-if scenarios to meet space requirements while also encompassing overall business objectives
Track headcount and space utilization for all HQ buildings and spaces as added, reporting both efficiencies and areas for growth
Based on space utilization findings, proactively develop, present, and implement agreed upon space action plans
Ensure Uber space and people data (CAFM) is accurately captured, updated and available to assist all internal business teams
Responsible for a seamless move process for all Uber HQ employees, developing and continuing existing standards
Participate in the development, implementation, and oversight of internal space team programs and initiatives
Conduct surveys following floor openings and moves, analyzing data for continual team process improvements
Partner with the Facilities teams to provide cohesive service offerings
What You’ll Need
Minimum 7 years of experience in Space and Strategic Move Management
Minimum 2 years of experience managing a highly-functioning, dynamic team
Degree in Architecture, Design or other Facilities related discipline
Experience with CAFM Systems required
Proficiency in AutoCAD required
Experience with implementation of business and architectural standards
Understanding of basic regional building codes and spatial programming relationships
Ability to problem solve based on historical data and logic
Ability to work on multiple high-level projects while managing day to day team operations
Organized, independent and self motivated (entrepreneurial), enthusiastic, dependable, detail oriented, flexible in scheduling and prioritization
Bonus Points If
You have previously used FM Systems
You know SketchUp or Revit in addition to AutoCAD
You’ve transformed data into beautiful charts using Tableau
You know enough SQL to create specific reports and querys in CAFM
You previously worked in the fast paced tech or start-up world
You have a passion for Uber!

As part of this Global Design and Space Planning Team, you will assist in coordinating the ever changing work scape at Uber, with an emphasis on managing the space planning team within Uber’s HQ spaces.
