About Uber
Uber is a technology company that is changing the way the world thinks about transportation. We are building technology people use everyday. Whether it's heading home from work, getting a meal delivered from a favorite restaurant, or a way to earn extra income, Uber is becoming part of the fabric of daily life.

We're making cities safer, smarter, and more connected. And we're doing it at a global scale-energizing local economies and bringing opportunity to millions of people around the world.

Uber's positive impact is tangible in the communities we operate in, and that drives us to keep moving forward.

About the job
As a full stack engineer, you'll have a direct impact on the rider experience for both riders and drivers. We are ambitious, engaged and excited about disrupting the transportation industry across the world. Not just another social web app: we are moving real assets and real people around their cities.

You like using data to battle a sophisticated adversary. To do that, you collect and sift through terabytes of data. You work with data scientists across the company to gain valuable insights about the threats Uber faces. You are passionate about building scalable, flexible, and fault tolerant systems. You are creative and not afraid of exploring new technologies. We want you to put all of those skills to use as one of the key members of a new and rapidly growing Security Analytics team at Uber.

What you’ll do
You’ll be tasked with improving our data management tools across all aspects of the Uber Threat Operations team. This infrastructure will run complex new services and it will operate at significant scale. You will be challenged every day.
Provide security expertise and mentorship across all aspects of the infrastructure
Build solutions to complex security problems

What you’ll need
A security mindset. You constantly focus on how systems could be compromised or abused, and understand the consequences of security failures.

Ability to learn quickly. We’re looking for software engineers who thrive on learning new technologies and don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. You should be able to adapt easily to meet the needs of our massive growth and rapidly evolving business environment. You have advanced knowledge of Go, Python, Node.js, SQL, Machine Learning.

Data expertise. You know how to build and launch new data models that provide intuitive analytics to your customers. You are able to design, build, and launch extremely efficient & reliable data pipelines to move data. Experience with SQL and ETL tools is desired.

Fearlessness. You think a working proof-of-concept is the best way to make a point. You strive on proving that speed and quality are not conflicting; that you can achieve both at the same time.

Versatility. In addition to having an intimate knowledge of the whole web stack, you understand how all the pieces fit together (front-end, database, network layer, etc.) and how they impact the performance of your application.

Strong architecture chops. You know how to build highly scalable, robust, and fault tolerant services that support our unique rate-of-growth requirements. You stay up-to-date with the latest architectural trends.

Passion. You feel ownership over everything you ship; you'd never call code "released" until you’re confident it’s correct. You pride yourself on efficient monitoring, strong documentation, and proper test coverage.

A team player attitude. You believe that you can achieve more on a team — that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. You rely on others' candid feedback for continuous improvement.

Design and business acumen. You understand requirements beyond the written word. Whether you’re working on an API used by other developers, an internal tool consumed by our operation teams, or a feature used by millions of riders, your attention to details leads to a delightful user experience.

Bonus points for

Experience in authentication, authorization & related security protocols
Experience with mobile application development on iOS or Android
Experience in data analysis and machine-learning at scale
