Job Summary

The Director is an executive account and program manager who works with the Catalyst health system client executives to successfully implement the Care Management Suite. This position requires close collaboration with the Client Engagement Lead who is responsible for the overall client engagement and all Health Catalyst products being deployed at the client. The Director has several primary functions:

The Director is responsible for the Care Management Suite product deployment, client relationship, and client satisfaction during the Care Management Suite deployment. The Director interacts with client’s Care Management executive team and C-level health system executives on a regular basis as necessary throughout the entire engagement.
The Director continually looks for opportunities to educate and share the Health Catalyst vision to health system executives and clinician thought leaders.
The Director acts as the primary point of contact between the client and the Care Management product development team during the Care Management Suite deployment, tracking issues and enhancement requests.
The Director acts as the facilitator of a cross-functional team of Catalyst and client technology and clinical resources needed to execute the project.
The Director spends a significant amount of time helping the client progress through a series of implementation activities which include but are not limited to the following:
Care management workflow mapping
Organizational and staff change management
Key software configuration decisions
Identifying key data sources
Identifying key patient populations
Deployment of interfaces to support patient alerting
Training on products
Transition to maintenance and client support
The Director provides end-user mentoring and acts as the point person for managing software issues and troubleshooting during the implementation of the care management suite products.
The ideal candidate has experience in the following major areas:
Proven executive account management experience, ideally in a health care related industry. Can successfully interact, persuade, motivate, and handle objections at an executive level. Can build relationships at every level and show success at achieving high client satisfaction.
Nurse or clinical experience, preferred, in order to facilitate care management discussions. Or technical experience specifically with implementation, installation and application of product concepts. Significant familiarity with key data warehouse concepts is also helpful.
Demonstrated program management experience, including a strong attention to detail.
Specific experience in Agile program management, preferred, or process improvement design and implementation is helpful in order to help guide clients through the project in an efficient and effective manner.
Proven experience in health care operations both clinical and technical.

These areas of experience require strong executive and relationship building skills, clinical and technical familiarity, and program management skills to work through complex development and implementation decisions. The candidate is also required to have excellent communication, interpersonal, technical, and organizational skills to help guide change management best practices, remove obstacles, enhance collaboration, and support team deliver results.

Duties & Responsibilities

Leads Health Catalyst and Client key project stakeholders through successful deployment of the Care Management Suite products to meet contractual agreements.
Facilitates deployment meetings with client care management leadership, physicians, nurses, social workers and administrative teams to implement the Care Management Suite.
Coordinates project management activities throughout the project management lifecycle.
Partners with client engagement team and client executives to identify improvement opportunities, select metrics to confirm successful outcome improvements and document successes.
Performs administrative tasks required to move assigned projects through various phases including the tracking of project status and cost.
Facilitates recommended Catalyst change management processes with physicians, nurses, and administration.
Identifies and removes impediments, and prevents distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the goal.
Monitors and communicates key performance metrics information.
Provides visibility to senior management on project team status and issues.
Identifies and coordinates dependencies with external teams.
Promotes a collaborative team environment that fosters creativity and innovation.
Promotes continuous improvement and helps teams to increase productivity.
Mentors team members on Agile principles and practices.
Coordinates and schedules the execution of deliverables across multiple teams

Required Experience

5 years’ executive account management experience, ideally in health care environment.
3 – 5 years’ clinical operations experience, preferred.
At least 3 years’ program or project management experience.
7 years’ clinical and/or operational health care experience.
2+ years’ of management experience with clinical nurses or hospital administrative personnel.
Experience in building motivated, collaborative, and productive development/implementation teams.
Experienced with and understands Enterprise Data Warehouse processes and lifecycles.
Strong management of people and their work.

Education & Relevant Experience

Bachelor's degree in clinical or related field, master’s degree desirable.
Training in the Toyota Production System, LEAN, Six Sigma or other Process Improvement Skills.
Graduate of the Health Catalyst Advanced Training Program or Intermountain Health Care Advanced Training Program in “Quality Improvement Program (or Sister ATP program) preferred.
