About our city offices
Our company is national, but many parts of what we do are local: we’re in the business of buying and selling homes, which we need to repair, clean and get ready for market. Our customers are also local: they look for a new home in a particular neighborhood or school district, and they sell in the same way. Our local offices are responsible for understanding and serving the local market and all of the homes we buy and sell there.

About City Ops Team
The City Operations team is responsible for setting our local teams up for success by identifying areas for operational improvement, formulating new processes in response, and synthesizing localized learnings to improve company-wide policies. Opendoor is aggressively expanding market counts and City Operations will lead building the organizational muscle for scaling responsibly.
As a City Operations & Strategy Associate / Manager you will:
Partner with City GMs using data to diagnose problems, develop actions plans, and drive operational changes in local markets
Build scalable systems and processes from scratch to deliver consistently against goals
Understand edge cases and how they help us improve baseline operating policies
Facilitate regular business reviews to monitor city performance
Collaborate cross-functionally to understand and improve all parts of our business from Homes Operations and Pricing, to Growth and Customer Experience
You are:
A utility player— you’re good at many things and spike on a few
Analytical— draws own conclusions using data to quickly identify root causes of performance
A system thinker— ability to quickly learn how different parts of the business interact
Biased to action and continual improvement— Understands 70% confidence is enough to act and then constantly improve our systems, processes, and yourself
A clear communicator— strong written and verbal communications
Invent and simplify- explores solutions that both drive value and reduce complexity for customers
Fearless— pull what is needed to achieve goals
You have:
2-7 years experience— preferably with a tech company in bizops, analytics, PM, or strategy; prior experience in finance, consulting, or investing also a plus
Willingness to travel ~1 week per month to be on the ground with our operators and customers gathering local insights and leading change
Existing proficiency in SQL is a big plus
