About the Role

 

Uber is hiring a Senior Manager, Employer Brand & Marketing to help us continue to build our unique culture by driving strategy and execution of our recruitment marketing and employer brand efforts across all businesses globally.

 

The Employer Brand & Marketing team’s goal is to attract and welcome the best, brightest, and most diverse talent to come work at Uber.  We’re focused on building an inclusive employer brand and providing a seamless experience for candidates who are interested in joining us.  We manage all of our online and offline Careers properties, run scalable marketing campaigns and events to reach & invite candidates to apply to jobs, and partner with teams across the company to drive results for their recruitment needs.

 

The ideal candidate has marketing experience, and an understanding of the recruiting function, people management experience, and a background working in technology.  As a senior manager you will have two audiences that you will need to deeply understand and build programs for: candidates and employees (current and former.)  This is a global and highly collaborative role; you’ll partner with Recruiting, Brand and Marketing teams, and D&I teams. This role is based in our San Francisco office, but will work closely with our global team.

What You’ll Do

 

  • Lead a team of four. Manage a team in a People function within a global, fast-paced, high growth environment.
  • Evaluate The Employee Value Proposition.​ Work with teams across functions and geographies in order to deeply understand the company and its culture. Taking a lead from Brand Marketing you'll use what you've learned to form the employee value proposition which must nestle under the overall Uber brand identity. 
  • Build the Strategy.​ After the EVP is ready, build a marketing plan to tell our story at the right times in the right places. Create and manage budget and resource plans needed to execute.
  • Collaborate closely with brand and social marketing teams. Create employment brand marketing plans, with a strong emphasis on engineering and tech hiring.  Partner and collaborate with Brand, Marketing and Communications teams. Work with Recruiting across our four regions globally and business teams to help generate talent pipelines where needed.
  • Tell Stories.​ Be a creative storyteller and build meaningful, impactful narratives about careers at Uber. Work with all forms of media (words, pictures, videos, etc) and all channels of marketing (events, email, print, mobile, social, etc) to get the message across.
  • Track Success.​ Identify the data and metrics that show progress and partner with the analytics team to build and manage.
  • Repeat. ​ At Uber, we’re constantly tinkering, refining and improving. Continuously evolve marketing plans to improve the story and results.

What You'll Need

 

  • 8+ years in branding/marketing, with employment branding experience preferred
  • Experience working as a people leader in a hiring function within a global, fast-paced, high growth environment
  • Experience with surveys, metrics and measurement and ability to tell a story with data
  • Ability to build, grow and maintain important relationships
  • Superior written and verbal presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to manage complex projects and convert plans into actions
  • Flexible, with a willingness and aptitude to learn new and adapt to change
  • A great attitude and passion to contribute to the future of Uber

You’ll be part of the People Experience & Employer Brand team that’s helping to define and improve the Uber employee experience through communications, events, social media and more. We wear many hats, but our core mission is to Build Together, Grow Together.
