Description

Join a team providing a leading-edge security solution to protect web services.  The IT Security Engineer Security will partner closely with IT and Infrastructure teams to secure, enable and scale Shape’s corporate systems and network, enterprise applications and data, and to enable new business functions. The ideal candidate is passionate about security, in both personal and business contexts, and excels at highly detail-oriented projects.

Job Duties and ResponsibilIties

    • Design and drive implementation of secure infrastructure at scale.
    • Build and / or implement tools that aid in enhancing the security posture of corporate infrastructure and services.
    • Management of technologies to support information and security requirements as team builds and supports security systems and infrastructure.
    • Collaborate with teams on cross‐functional projects to secure our services and data.

Required knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
    • 2+ years of relevant security and network experience required.
    • Baseline competency in administration of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or equivalent public cloud infrastructure.
    • Strong demonstrated knowledge of technologies including network, server, desktop, storage, and how security relates to the overall IT environment.
    • Technical knowledge and extensive hands-on experience with security and networking architecture, networking protocols, network security design, wireless security, intrusion prevention/detection, and firewall architecture.
    • Strong Unix/Linux administration
    • Ability to develop tools using an interpreted programming language (PHP, Python, Ruby, etc.).
    • Familiarity with DevOps toolchain (e.g. Puppet / Chef / Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Osquery)
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong self-directed work habits, exhibiting initiative, drive, creativity, maturity, self-assurance and professionalism.
    • Agile, proactive, comfortable working with ambiguous specifications and can prioritize on the fly.

Bonus knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • CISSP and/or other security based credential (GIAC GCIH/GCIA, etc.).
    • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
    • Familiarity with contemporary solutions for common security categories such as endpoint protection, data loss prevention, SIEM, etc.
