Designed to be an exciting and rewarding entry into the world of merchandising, the Merchandising Associate role is a 1-year assignment into our Merchandising Training Program via a Merchandising Associate Rotation. We are seeking a rotation candidate to help drive growth in Minted's Art business. Minted has a unique approach to merchandising given that all of our designs are crowdsourced from a community of independent artists and voted on by consumers. The Merchandising Associate will support the Associate Merchandise Manager, Art in executing key merchandising strategies across the Art business.

In addition to having a creative side, he or she will have strong analytical and quantitative driven decision-making skills, excellent project management and communication skills, and the ability to both think strategically as well as roll up their sleeves to get things done quickly and with limited resources.
The Minted Merchandising team is responsible for driving sales  by working closely with design submissions from our talented community of artists, as well as data from our analytics team,  to bring forth a balanced assortment of the freshest designs to inspire our customers. This team is also responsible for ensuring the shopping experience in their category is seamless, and the quality of designs rendered on the site flawless, to ensure the best customer experience possible.

You will:

    • Prepare materials and documents to support the category merchant in the assortment process, including pinning and unpinning Merch boards.  Please understand that pinning and unpinning of the boards is a constant of the role, and that there will be no one else hired, either contract or full time, to perform this function.
    • Assist with the online merchandising of the relevant categories including filters, SKU organization and ranking, and optimizing the overall “shopability” of the assortment.
    • Maintain and enhance merchandise data, including basic product information, filter assignments, search tags, and related products.
    • Collaborate with the category merchant in the merchandising of curated landing pages.
    • Partner with the category merchant to identify growth opportunities through competitive and customer analysis.
    • Complete ad hoc analytical projects, as requested by the category merchant.
    • Coordinate with our production team to ensure an on time and smooth launch of product assortments.

You are:

    • Deeply quantitative and analytical. The ideal candidate loves data and is able to analyze a problem, use data to articulate a recommendation, and take action accordingly.
    • A self-starter with an ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment and meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines while still paying attention to details and executing flawlessly.
    • Results-driven, focused, and analytical. Outstanding follow-up, organization, and time management skills.
    • Excited to work in a collaborative team environment.

You have:

    • An eye for great design and intuitive understanding of not only what will sell, but also what constitutes truly differentiated and high-quality design.
    • A clear understanding of financial retail measurements and how to impact them. Experience in ecommerce and understanding of ecommerce performance metrics and conversion drivers is a plus.
    • Exceptional and obsessive detail orientation.
    • An understanding of Minted’s crowdsourcing model and how it differs from traditional retail.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets skills
    • A Bachelor’s Degree
