Role Description
 
Lead and develop our global team of Engineering Program Managers, delivering engineering excellence in everyday execution during Product Development and NPI phases of a program.  Drive the ‘one team’ initiative across locations, sharing tools, processes, knowledge and best practices throughout team members.  Drive a system of mentorship and coaching, along with team problem solving.
 
Key Responsibilities
•Lead the global Engineering Program Management Team, including day to day management, coaching and organizational development
•Spearhead multi-disciplinary hardware engineering teams on our most complex product development programs
•Work with company leadership and quotations team to accurately scope, plan and set budget for incoming new projects
•Motivate and empower your team to meet stated goals and deliverables on schedule, on spec and on budget
•Exercise swift and sound judgement to make critical project changes as required, while assessing risks and controlling scope
•Cultivate a relationship of trust with the client team via regular and transparent communication of project status, risks and issues
•Work closely with the Quotations and Customer Success teams on commercial discussions with clients
•Carry out program reviews with team members, to ensure quality of execution
•Support business development proposals & sign-off on MSA’s and SOW’s for new projects
•Establish and drive execution of operational metrics and KPI’s for your team
•Develop a team culture of learning from failure & driving root cause and corrective action
•Develop the quality of internal and external communications
•Develop and promote a culture of teamwork
 
Key Skills
 
•8+ years of experience as a technical hardware project or program manager (e.g. consumer electronics, aerospace or medical devices, consumer products)
•Demonstrated understanding of project management best practices, methodologies, standards and tools
•A track-record of shipping 4+ hardware products or sub-systems as a lead project manager
•A degree in an engineering field, or deep knowledge of hardware product development principles gained through professional experience
•Strong understanding of the product development process, from concept to manufacturing
•Comprehensive familiarity with the product development process for different disciplines and how they interact (mechanical, electrical & embedded firmware engineering, manufacturing, and industrial design preferred)
•Extensive experience successfully planning scope, schedule and budgets for multiple large-scale projects and executing within those parameters
•Strong communications and speaking skills and an ability to inform and engage with clients throughout all phases of the project
•Exemplary written communication skills
•Experiential knowledge of how project delivery requirements, issues, needs, and risk impact the scope, budget and schedule on a day-to-day basis
•The ability to solve complex challenges on your own as well as sound judgement of when to raise issues to leadership
