Dave is looking for a talented Senior Database Engineer to continue building the foundation that empowers the engineers to build products that help millions of people improve their relationship with money. What You'll Do
- Design, build and maintain databases systems to support features used by our 5 million users
- Databases currently in use: GCP CloudSQL (MySQL), Cloud Spanner, Cloud Bigtable, Cloud Firestore
- Automate aspects of database management, schema design and performance optimization
- Provide technical leadership and assist guiding the team's overall technical direction
- Offer mentorship and pair with other engineers regularly
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ Years of Database Engineering experience with a wide breadth of database technologies, including both SQL and NoSQL
- 1+ Years of cloud infrastructure experience, preferably GCP
- Experience programming in one or more general purpose programming languages, including but not limited to: Bash, Python or Go
- Expertise implementing secure database installations with least privilege access
- Designing and developing database architecture using various structured and unstructured data types
- Proficiency in replication, high availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Experience in query optimization, index tuning, partitions and schema maintenance
- Monitoring and alerting on database performance to identify problems that require intervention
- Collaborate across engineering teams to create new applications that use databases or modifying existing applications to improve their performance or functionality
- Effective communication skills, a positive attitude, and ability to give and receive constructive feedback
